COMMUNITY HEALTH

This department was launched on 1st August by the Medical Director Dr Wol Wol Dut.

It has already started carrying out awareness on issues pertaining to health in the community through a radio Talk show.

TCH Health Talk project will run for 90 days, every Friday. It started on 2nd August 2024, Friday. So far, we have discussed Malaria treatment and prevention, Snakes bites, rabies, etc.

In early August, Community Health collaborated with John Lee Foundation beneficiaries to carry our Malaria Outreach in leprosy patients isolation areas—Laach Chok and Kuanyja.

We donated mosquito nets from the hospital, drugs and carried out diagnosis services using RDT strips.

These 2 areas have been neglected and we are in a process to discuss with MOH to set up Primary Health Care Units where they can be attended to by doctors. Thousands of people live in these areas and they do not have a single clinic!

We also support EPI program through Community Health department by educating the community on health.

Due to lack of office space, Community Health operates in EPI office. We are seeking support to have a new building that will be able to accommodate the necessary departments and that the hospital need.

We plan to carry out more Health Outreach in dry season. During rainy season, roads are impassable.
